About Me
Dr. Claire Lankford, PhD., is a clinical and forensic psychologist in Alabama. She provides forensic mental health assessments for both adults and adolescents on a variety of legal issues. She has years of experience delivering scientifically supported treatment to assist people in their pursuit of mental health and well-being.
Dr. Lankford attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and obtained her degree in Psychology. She then attended the University of Alabama and completed her Masters in Criminal Justice. To blend her interests in psychology and law, Dr. Lankford pursued her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a Forensic speciality at Drexel University.

Expertise and Background
Dr. Claire Lankford, Ph.D., received her doctorate in clinical psychology with a specialization in forensics at Drexel University in which she was expertly trained to conduct forensic mental health assessments for criminal cases. Additionally, she provided evidence-based treatment to individuals reentering the community following incarceration. As the former coordinator for the Reentry Team, she facilitated collaboration among clinicians, the Federal Reentry Court, Mental Health Court, and the Innocence Project.
Beyond her clinical training, she also contributed to policy efforts in Philadelphia, working to remove obstacles faced by those with mental health challenges within the justice system. Currently, she partners with the University of Alabama and the Southern Behavioral Health and Law Initiative to improve mental health service access for individuals involved in the legal system.
Dr. Lankford completed her internship at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, and gained advanced training in providing evidence-based care to Veterans dealing with trauma, PTSD, and mood disorders.
